Psychological Tools and Resources

The Reflect in Nature card system is built upon grounded psychological principles and enables structured self-reflection, emotional insight, and personal growth, all while immersed in the natural world. The deck encourages a daily practice of going into nature and pulling four cards. Each will have a question for reflection based on Narrative Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Nature Allied Psychotherapy, or Somatic Awareness & Polyvagal Theory. The decks can be used individually as a prompt to get into nature, or with a therapist for guided outdoor work.

This children's book series is born out of the bedtime stories I tell to my kids, Lachlann, Ailbhe and Finn. Because of my job and my desire for them to be kind compassionate friends to others, I often included characters who experience difficulties or hardships with part of the purpose of the story being to figure out how they can support and include them.

The series follows dramatised versions of Lachlann, Ailbhe and Finn on adventures and each book incorporates a character or characters with a Special Educational Need. The books consider how they can be supported and focus on Inclusivity, Empathy, Communication and Acceptance. As such will be useful tools for educators and home-readers alike.
