Educational Psychology Assessments

I provide Psychological Advice as part of the Education, Health and Care Needs Assessment (EHCNA) process. At other times, because of my dual qualification in Clinical Psychology, I am asked to provide input for children who have particularly complex or unusual presentations. These are usually contracted directly by Education Authorities, County Councils and Children's Services but can also be initiated by families. These assessments include:

- Assessments of specific learning difficulties (e.g. dyslexia or dyscalculia)
- Assessments of cognitive skills including working memory, reasoning and speed of information processing
- Assessment to determine personalised approaches to learning
- Assessment of social and emotional needs 

Some of the young people I work with experience very significant needs and will require the support of an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) to meet these needs. Other young people whom I support are exceptionally gifted and are already achieving at the highest levels and my role is to identify the marginal gains needed to support them to achieve their ambitions.
